Our Data Promise
At sparkbase, we clean spaces, not personal lives. This policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect the minimal data required to deliver our service.
We believe transparency is the foundation of trust. If you have a question not covered here, our team is ready to clarify.
Contact our Data OfficerWhat We Collect (And Why)
We practice data minimization. We only ask for information essential to schedule, complete, and invoice your cleaning. Every field has a clear purpose.
Contact & Booking Details
Name, address, phone, email, preferred date/time.
We use this solely to schedule your service, communicate with your assigned cleaner, and send the invoice. Your address is never published or shared with others.
Service Preferences
Apartment details, key codes, access notes, allergy alerts.
This information is encrypted and shared only with your confirmed cleaner on the day of service. It is stored for 30 days post-service, then permanently deleted.
Payment Information
Billing address, partial payment tokens (via Stripe).
We do not see or store your full credit card numbers. Our payment processor handles all sensitive financial data according to PCI-DSS standards.
Website Analytics
Anonymous usage data (pages visited, time on site).
We use a privacy-focused tool to understand how visitors navigate our site. No personal identifiers are tracked, and data is not linked to any individual.
You Control Your Data
You are not a passive subject in our system. We provide direct mechanisms to manage, review, and delete the information we hold about you.
-
Request Your Data
Email us to receive a PDF summary of all personal data we hold, within 30 days.
-
Correct Inaccuracies
If a phone number is wrong or an address has changed, we'll update it immediately upon request.
-
Request Deletion
We can erase your account and all associated data, though invoices are kept for 7 years for tax compliance.
Real-World Scenario
A client moves to a new address and asks us to update their file. We confirm the change over the phone, the cleaner is notified before the next visit, and the old address is archived. The process is simple, secure, and respects their changing needs.
When We Share Data (And Why)
We do not sell your data. We share the minimum necessary to process your booking and invoice you securely.
Operational Trade-offs
We Share With: Our Cleaners
Address, key instructions, access notes.
Why: To ensure your home is cleaned correctly. Mitigation: Cleaners access this via a secure, time-limited app.
We Share With: Stripe (Payment)
Billing details, payment tokens.
Why: To process your payment. Mitigation: Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant; we see only a transaction ID.
We Share With: Tax Authorities
Invoice records, business transactions.
Why: Legal requirement in France. Mitigation: We share only aggregated financial records, not client details.
Security Measures
- • HTTPS encryption for all data in transit.
- • Encrypted storage for client records and notes.
- • Role-based access for staff (cleaners see only their assignments).
Data Retention
- • Active clients: Data kept for the duration of service.
- • Inactive accounts: Personal data deleted after 2 years.
- • Invoices: Retained for 7 years for French tax law compliance.
